images-13.jpegOne of my happiest childhood memories is reading. When I was five years old my grandmother used to read to me every afternoon. I still remember that thick book of different fairytales with a dark green cover and a picture of a castle on it. The book was old and had a special sweet smell. The fragrance was do to its location it was usually on the kitchen countertop where my grandmother was cooking different yummy things. I think my love for reading started at this time. I couldn’t stop reading through my middle and high school years. Every book I read was a new great adventure for me. When I was starting the book I couldn’t wait to find out what will happen next. My mother used to hide books from me because I would get so involved in reading that sometimes I forgot to do my homework on time. In our time when computers and the internet are dominating, I still feel that the books are still the foundation of learning. The books are helping children to develop emotionally and socially. It is crucial for every mom and dad to develop a love for books by reading to their child every night. It is important to make it an adventure and fun. We all very busy but even 15 minutes reading a day will make a great difference in your child’s future learning. I like using this websites for choosing the right books and to read reviews TeachersFirst and Barefoot-books
