Jameson has been teaching children of all ages (5 and up) for 4 years now. He is tremendously patient, passionate and knowledgeable. In teaching, Jameson utilizes a series of duets that allow teacher and student to make music together from the earliest lessons.
Currently the guitarist for the San Francisco alternative rock group, Grand Lake, Jameson Swanagon studied jazz and classical music at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. After receiving a Masters Degree in 2007, he recorded music with New York composer Anthony Coleman for New World Records. In 2008, he relocated to his home state of California where he supports a variety of projects in the folk, rock, jazz and avant-garde arenas. His latest recording, Lonely Ground, is an eclectic collection of solo guitar pieces – compositions as well as improvisations.
He hopes that the diversity of his background will not only answer his student’s musical questions, but also raise entirely new ones.
